Juneau Road Conditions

Tenative schedule for construction on Juneau area roads in 2010 includes:

1. Minor work this summer on Juneau Douglas Bridge at 10th and Egan intersection;
2. Minor work on Mendenhall Boulevard and Back Loop Road;
3. North Douglas Highway, from Eaglecrest Road intersection to the end - patch potholes and overlay. Good chance will construct in summer 2010;
4. Glacier Highway, from Amalga Harbor out four miles - widen the road, straighten out curves. Blasting some rock now. Will be working on it all summer;
5. Thane reconstruction. May not happen till next summer.
6. Glacier Highway, Mendenhall Loop intersection to the ferry terminal - patch and overlay/repave. Also replace those drainage grates, yeah!
