Hi Freewheelers,

Both Rose and I will be stepping down from our Freewheeler positions this year and the Vice President of Racing remains vacant.

If you are interested or know of someone who might be interested, please send them our way. We can provide a more details and timelines on what we do and how we do it The duties can be parsed out differently, depending on who would like to do what. We have a small club and it’ all quite simple, we just need a couple people that work together well and can make the events happen for 2010.

Positions Vacant:

President Coordinate/finalize event schedule, event directors, and club sponsors. Contribute, edit, distribute newsletter. Permit events with USA Cycling. Updates to the Webmaster

Treasurer: Cash handling (receipts, pay bills, deposits following events, etc.). Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank reconciliation, and financial statements. Maintain accounting controls. USA Cycling post event reporting.

VP of Racing: This position remains vacant and the Treasurer and President have been doing the duties along with Jim Sheufelt, who has secured the DOT permits for the past five or so years.

BTW Bike to Work: Mike and Barbara Kelly will not be able to coordinate this event as they are moving out of town this summer (to a place where they can bike almost every day!)

Upcoming Schedule:

January Board meeting, coordinate who is doing what and when – all are welcome

LAB dues are paid (covers insurance for all time trials for the year)

Storage unit dues are paid for the year

February Event schedule meeting, group drafts events for the year – all are welcome

Directors and sponsors are secured & event schedule is finalized & posted to the web

March Events are permitted with USA Cycling and paid for by the end of the month

Newsletter distributed by the end of the month

May First event takes place…..

Rose and I have worked well together for the past three years along with our other volunteers, Jim (DOT Permits), Paul (VP Membership), Dave (Advocacy), Rob (Advocacy) – we just need to move along with our busy lives and are unable to hold these positions starting in 2010 : )

The President “box” and the Treasurer “box” and club computer will be ready to hand off to the next volunteers the day after Christmas, so please let us know and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have.

Thank you,
Tara Jeans, President
