North Douglas Time Trial

Perhaps the rain and temperature in the low 40’s contributed to the light turnout at Friday evening’s North Douglas informal time trial.

The cold and rain didn’t slow down Charlie “the rocket” Williams, who is undefeated in time trials this year. His brand new TT bike also looked nice and his carbon wheels sounded quite fast on the road. He passed me like I was standing still, before the half way point.

John Bursell raced and claimed second place, despite being hit by a car while biking, just the night before the TT. He is training for an ironman triathlon next month, so I guess even getting hit by a car won’t slow him down.

Chris Scholes improved his time substantially from the TT two weeks ago. Jim Calvin rode fast in his first bike race of the year. Welcome to Dennis Weston, who rode his first bike race in a number of years, and his first Freewheelers event. Barbara Kelly had a great ride in her first Freewheeler event for the year.
